Forum will be down for a short while today for updates

Post by Kate Tolley » Tue Jan 19, 2016 8:22 am

I'm aiming to do it between about 10 and 11 this morning. If you get any errors during that time don't worry, the whole thing shouldn't take longer than about half an hour.

All the critical updates are done but we're still working on the theme (the old one is no longer compatible).

Any technical problems please let me know. Tapatalk should work too.

we had some speed problems over the weekend- we think maybe they were sorting out server issues- but it is zinging along this morning- unless of course you know different!
If it looks like an exhibition, sounds like an exhibition, sells itself as an exhibition – you may be really disappointed. There is only ONE LOCKEXPO and ONE ALEXPO

That'll be down to the new database server. Also, you'll notice the site is now running over SSL (Actually, TLS1.2) which means it is encrypted (and since it is compressed before encryption, that speeds things up on modern hardware too!)

Isn't my wife brilliant? (I added this line because otherwise it looks like I did more than run a test!)
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is!

Can I just say that if you have to choose between changing a PHPBB3 site over to SSL or poking yourself in the eye with a sharp stick, the sharp stick is probably less painful.
